Riverdale Edition complete in 22 volumes, vols 23, 24 and 25 were added later by Harper and Brothers in 1906 & 1907. Limited to 625 numbered sets with flyleaf SIGNED by Author. Set is in VG Condition, Beautifully bound by MacDonald in 3/4 leather with marbled boards, Raised spine bands with gilt decorated compartments. 18 & 20 with hinges discreetly reinforced with Japanese tissue, Head of spine to vol.

20 with some loss - repaired with Japanese tissue (see photos). A few other volumes with small amount of chipping to spine heads and some light scuffs to leather here and there (see photos). Binding and hinges are very good with the exception of vol.

1 front cover slightly weak but cover holding strong. Marbled endpapers and paste downs, no loose of missing pages, pages are bright and clean, without marks and no foxing. Nicely illustrated with full page engravings and color frontisepieces.

SIGNED BY MARK TWAIN RIVERDALE EDITION LIMITED TO 625 COPIES THIS BEING #512. The Riverdale Edition (1901)of Mark Twain's works, complete in 22 volumes. (volumes 23, 24 and 25 were added later by Harper and Brothers in 1906 and 1907 and offered to buyers of the original sets).

The Riverdale Edition was limited to 625 numbered sets and features the limitation number written in red ink along with the statement, This is the authorized Uniform Edition of all my books. Includes SIGNED flyleaf opposite limitation page - signed by the author using both his real name and his nom de plume. Set is in Very Good/Very Good+ Condition, Beautifully bound by MacDonald of New York in 3/4 leather with marbled boards, Raised spine bands with gilt decorated compartments, each volume with author, title and date in gilt.

Binding and hinges are all very good with the exception of volume one front cover ever so slightly weak but cover holding strong just needs to be handled with care. Nicely illustrated with full page engravings throughout - the Riverdale Edition is distinguished by hand-colored illustrations protected by tissue guards featured as frontispieces in eleven of the volumes.
