Late in the 4th Quarter with the game against there heated rival the Auburn Tigers all tide up at 27 Florida Quarterback Steve Spurrier had lead the mighty Gators down the field to within field goal range. With only seconds left on the clock Florida calls a time out and Spurrier goes to the sideline pleading with Coach Ray Graves to let him attempt the field goal to win the game weather it was lack of confidence in there regular kicker or Spurriers persuasiveness Coach Graves sent Spurrier out to attempt the kick and well the rest is history and a legend is born Spurrier nails the 40 yard field goal not only does he win the game with that kick two weeks later Steve Spurrier wins the 1966 Heisman Trophy.
