It includes a 11/3/4" x 16" white envelope that closes at the top. There is a graphic on the front of the envelope.
Inside, the cover of the folio has the same graphic as the envelope - a 11 1/4" x 15 1/2" folded binding, and it also includes seven 11" x 15" black and white plates. The plates are loose and are blank on the reverse side. It includes a numbered Certificate of Authenticity from Middle Earth Published and signed by Polly E. Sullivan, Vice Present, Collector Relations.
Overall, the plates are in Very Good Condition - with light wear to the paper - the pictures are bright and they appear to be free of any marks, with the exception of Plate #7 which has some brown dampstains on it. The cover has a few creases and the corners are bumped. The envelope is only in Acceptable Condition. The paper has wear and stains. There are nicks along the edges and the corners are bumped and dented. The bottom seal is torn and the envelope closure flap at the top is torn and creased. Some other tears, scuffs and browning and there are some grey paint stains near the "axe".
