This is a new, limited edition silkscreen print by First Nations Native Gitksan artist, Danny Dennis. From 1991 and an edition of 225 , this modern and elegant design is a wonderful example of Danny's work. Copper - Raven with Frogs. And it measures 20" high x 13" wide.
This shield shape, referred to as a "copper" on the West Coast, contains two frog figures (which often represent communication) and a dynamically designed raven figure (which often represents creation and transformation). Danny is a self-taught artist and his crest is Frog. Danny was born in 1951 and hails from Port Essington, BC. His primary art forms are limited edition prints and original paintings, yet he also creates jewellery.
Danny began working as an artist in 1978 and a year later was exhibited at Skhana Art Crafts in West Germany. He currently resides in Hazelton, BC.
