With art and photography fundamentally intertwined, Malcolm creates detailed paintings from his collection of photos, all taken on location in some of the world's most magnificent beauty spots. Malcolm's delicate and thoughtful approach to his process sees a photograph re-interpreted to a soft and blended piece of art, multi-layered and textured to create a dreamy finish whether it be a tranquil Antigua beach or a modern abstract. After running several Fine Art galleries in London Malcolm went on to become an artists' agent and then became a professional artist himself in 2002, initially experimenting with photography and then moving into mixed media. His atmospheric images have now been licensed widely all over the world and his overriding aim is to create paintings that reach out to the viewer, evoking a powerful sense of mood or place. Coastal subjects are a recurrent theme, and Malcolm believes that the ocean has a way of cleansing the spirit and reconnecting us with the innocence of childhood.
