Invisible Man, by Ralph Ellison, Franklin Library Series 60. Signed, Limited, Leatherbound Hardcover Edition Very Good Condition. There is no dust jacket, as released by the publisher. The boards are straight and square with sharp corners but have several horizontal indentations across the front.
The "Books by Ralph Ellison" page has a small discolored spot. The binding is still very solid and the pages are otherwise clean and crisp, without creases, marks or tears, as well as unblemished gilded edges. Published by Franklin Library in 1980 as part of their Series 60 Signed Limited Editions, this is the Leatherbound Signed Limited Hardcover Edition of Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison. It includes a "Special Message to Subscribers" written by the author for this edition describing his inspiration for the book.
It is bound in red leather, with gold accents, gilded page edges, a satin ribbon marker, a Smyth-sewn binding, silk moire end-sheets and a large number of black and white illustrations by Will Harmuth. It is signed by the author on a blank interior page and includes a thin fabric insert to protect the signature. It was released as a "limited edition" by Franklin Library as part of their "Series 60" Signed Limited Editions, and was limited in quantity to the number of subscribers who committed to pre-ordering the series of 60 books produced between 1977 and 1982.
