Inscribed by the author and dated August 3, 1978. Additionally, this is copy number 18 of 150 numbered copies Signed and Inscribed by the author. Thom, who started as a talented young poet at Yale, from which he graduated in 1951, was a playwright (Compulsion) and screenwriter who is known for an edgy and eclectic body of work which included The Fine Young Cannibals, The Subterraneans, Death Race, Death Race 2000, Wild in the Streets and Bloody Mama. He died the year after this memoir in verse was published, at the age of 49.
